The UAE is international but still conservative in many public contexts. Dress and behave modestly in malls, government areas, and older neighborhoods.

Official taxis and ride apps are common and generally easy for visitors. Metro is excellent in Dubai for many routes.

Many restaurants are in hotels due to licensing rules. Friday brunch is a major social dining tradition.

In hot months, outdoor activity is best early or late. Carry water and use shaded or indoor routes where possible.
